''Anyways, while Jerry does a good job of maintaining the music's integrity, Brent provides the gusto disallowing the generic backbeats to interfere with my enjoyment.''

"Those playful chords of "China" delight all who dare to enter their warm confines. The fairy dust is flowing, but not enough to cause a growth of wings."

Brilliance.

I'll say! If all the dude ever does is basically say that the band was never quite there, why doesn't he try a different era? I'd like to see him tear apart some of their most undeniably legendary runs/shows. I forgot all about this yahoo until I ran across another review recently so I decided to run thourgh a bunch of them and lo and behold he gives better reviews to a Dead COVER band. I would say he was retarded except he knows too many big words.

He may know big words, but does he know how to use them? Evidently not.

You kind of wonder why he doesn't stop by here and give us all the benefit of his insights. Now wouldn't that be fun ...

Careful what you wish for ...

How ya doin' Rob ? I'm trying to knock up some sleeves for the pile of CDs that's threatening to take over my desk. But it may turn out to be a job that's better suited to the Xmas break. Bless Daliguana though - his contributions really help.

Track 12 from here would have sorted Scrooge out a lot quicker than visitations in the night. I wonder how jboyayaur would review that. http://www.archive.org/details/gd1971-12-14.sbd.cantor-orf.133.shnf

Hey there - I'm doing pretty much ok at the moment but I think I might be in for a recessionary kick in the gonads in the New Year - feels like it could be a bleak midwinter... Hope things are looking rosier for you.

Speaking of cds taking over the desk - I now have three boxes of the damn things under the desk. I keep promising myself I'm going to put them into some semblance of order but I never get around to it. I usually just reach in grab whatever comes to hand if I'm not sure what I want to listen to. Mind you, if I do know what I want to listen to it can be a right pain trying to find it.

Yeah, I really can't comment as my rare reviews are pretty lame and completely depending on my frame of mind at the exact moment - in other words I really lack objectivity.

At least jabaloney takes the time to actually write reviews.

I have found the entire Grateful Dead experience depends on state of mind whether sober enhanced good day bad day day night whatever. There are some shows I think that stand the test of objectivity though.

ah bullshit. Those aren't reviews they're verbal flatulence.

I stand corrected - you are right they are not reviews. They are pretty funny in a 'what the hell is this guy talking about' sort of way though.

I find his reviews startlingly refreshing and full of blessed excrement.
